Liam at 11 Months
Dear Liam,
Happy 11 Months, my sweet boy! I can't believe this is the last monthly update of your infant year. In just a few days, you will be ONE!!!
Every morning, I am blessed to wake up to your beaming smile. Every night, I thank God as I hold you tightly and kiss the top of your head. I am incredibly lucky to have you in my life. I truly feel complete.
Liam, you are loved by many, near and far. You make people so happy, and that's an amazing gift to have.
Your beauty shines through in all you do and you show the world that Down Syndrome is nothing to fear!
Keep smiling, laughing, and loving, baby boy. You are loved so very much!
Love, Mommy
MILESTONES: Crawling backwards, pivoting in circles while sitting, waving bye bye, clapping, and taking tiny steps with support.
TOOTH COUNT: NONE! It doesn't hold you back. You eat everything and chew like a champ!
COMFORTS: Nursing, being rocked, and being strapped to mommy in the Ergo.
FIRSTS: Between 10-11 months, you went swimming for the first time, visited the spray park, went to your first movie in the park, celebrated your first fourth of July, went to your first parade, saw fireworks for the first time, met new friends, ate your first slice of watermelon by yourself, and moved out of the bassinet and into a portable crib.
EATING: You still nurse several times a day. You eat pureed foods 3 times a day and self feed finger foods at each meal. You drink out of a straw cup at each meal.
FAVORITE FOODS: Shredded cheese, peas, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, macaroni and cheese, rigatoni, yogurt, puffs, yogurt melts, cheerios, and ice cream!
SLEEPING: You finally moved into your brother's room and away from my side! I was nervous, but the transition was seamless. You are sleeping through the night (12 hours) and we are so relieved to be sleeping well again! You take 2-3 naps a day and fall asleep in the car almost every single time!
SOUNDS/WORDS: Mama, Dada, Baba, and tons of babbling! You love to growl at things, too!
LIKES: Eating, nursing, cuddling with your family, standing, taking baths, and riding in the Ergo. You're happy most of the time!
DISLIKES: Having a dirty diaper (It's really the only time you cry! You want changed IMMEDIATELY!), getting your face wiped, and getting water in your eyes.
FAVORITE TOYS/GAMES: Sophie the Giraffe, Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes, Oballs, your generic music and lights boombox, the Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Learning Bird Bath, and a learning pot/vegetables set. You love to play peek a boo and tickle attack!
NICKNAMES: Miam, thanks to your big sister, Lily.
HEALTH: You are very healthy! No illnesses since your pneumonia/ear infection/respiratory infection over the winter, your laryngomalacia is gone, and your reflux is improving!
EARLY INTERVENTION: You still receive OT once a week for one hour and PT once a week for one hour in our home.
STATS: 15 lbs 4 oz and 27 1/2-28 inches. You were wiggly when I tried to measure you!
WEARING: Size 2 diapers, and mostly 3-6 month clothing, although you still fit into several 0-3 month items. You're a little guy!
PERSONALITY: You are the happiest and most content baby I've ever met! Your huge smile lights up a room and you are filled with joy. One thing is certain: We are so lucky to have you in our lives!!!
Love that little boy!
ReplyDeleteMe too! XOXO :)
DeleteOh my gosh I just want to hug and squeeze him! He is sooo darn cute!! Don't worry Liam my little Cody bug just got his first teeth at 14 months so you are good to go! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! He is, by far, my latest teether!
DeleteWow. Happy 1 year Liam! You're doing great!!! Cannot believe a year has passed!
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the hating the dirty diaper. I've read on other blogs (DS mommies) that potty training was/is kind of rough (often not until 4-5 yrs old)...but maybe he'll sail through with no issues. Way to go, Liam~ don't let any statics slow you down!! <3
Love, Joy
Thank you! Only time will tell how that goes! All I know is that he hates dirty diapers and cries until he gets changed. Hopefully that continues to bother him and will help during that process!
DeleteI am loving the baby mohawk on him!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Now it's just a baby combover! ;)
