Today was Opening Day for the 2012 baseball season in our area!
It was a very unusual Opening Day, because it was on a Sunday and because it was FREEZING outside! Too bad we couldn't have had the 80 degree weather we had on Friday!
The day kicked off at noon with a parade of all the baseball teams, followed by the national anthem.
The commissioner then announced the start of the 2012 season!
It was about 50 degrees and lightly raining during the parade. By 2:45, which was the start of Dylan's game, it was only 40 degrees and very windy! I bundled the girls up, so we could all cheer on Dylan!
Dylan is tall and very skinny, and gets cold easily (so much like me!). I was so cold that my eyes were tearing up, so I felt horrible for him. He was visibly shivering by the 4th inning!
I'm fairly certain that Lily, who slept on my chest through the entire game, was the only warm person there today!
Unfortunately, due to being pinned down by baby, and the fact that my fingers were frozen, I don't have any action shots.
Despite the cold, Dylan tried his hardest, and had a few good hits! He was so happy when the game was over. I have to say, I felt relieved, too!
It was a cold opening day, but we're looking forward to watching Dylan play this season! Go, Mars Black!
What a weird weather turn!!
ReplyDeleteThe kids all look adorable as always!
I can't imagine being outside all day today...brrrrrr!
Hope Dylan has a great season!

This looks like so much fun! . I can't wait to cheer my daughter on if or when she decides to do sports.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! May every game forward be warm!
ReplyDeleteThis weather needs to go back to warm ... asap! Poor little guy! At least it looked like he had fun!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so happy!
ReplyDeleteWe got the same weather here. And it's even colder today! But it'll warm up later this week at least.
Cute pictures!! Hope you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love supporting my kids I hate the cold and would probably have just sent my husband. I am so wimpy! I blame it on living in CA my whole life.
ReplyDeleteYay for opening day but let's hope the remainder of the season is a bit warmer. Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Saturday is our first game and I am so excited!! Love all the pics!
ReplyDeleteYour kids look adorable, as always. Glad he had a good game despite the freeze!

ReplyDeleteThis post makes me think about you, in a porta john with a babe strapped to you, HOW DO YOU DO IT??
T-ball is like a fifth season in our household... it pretty much means WIND in our area :)
ReplyDeleteGlad he survived his first game - and the firetruck - how exciting!
