The Last Days of Summer

Grant, the kids, and I have been spending a lot of time together and enjoying the last days of summer! It has been hot, but we're making the most of it!

Dylan heads off to Kindergarten on Tuesday. I really can't believe that time has come! Tonight, we had Kindergarten orientation, and he got to meet his teacher. He wanted to send us away and start school tonight! I think he's ready!

His teacher is extremely nice, he has a small class, and he is friends with two of his classmates. I think he's going to have a great year! That helps with my anxiety about sending my baby off to school!

We are getting used to a new back-to-school routine. We are all going to bed earlier, and waking up earlier. I'm even going to bed earlier! I'm still not sleeping great, but definitely better than I was!

We're focusing on having fun together, and getting things done around the house. On Tuesday, Grant returns to work, and my baby boy starts school.

We're savoring every last moment of summer vacation!

  1. Good luck come Tuesday, stay strong! =)

  2. We had Kindergarten orientation last night too. Buddy wasn't nearly as excited as he was last year.

That's awesome that Dylan has a small class. We thought that with two kindergarten classes this year, Buddy's would be small, but there are 26 kids in the class already!

  3. I'm glad we seem to be having an Indian summer. It will make winter a little easier to deal with! Have fun!

  4. Ok, big breath, and remember that I was freaking out like this 2 weeks ago. Ready?

    It's not that bad. :)

The first day is hard, but after a few days, you get into the routine of it, and you realize how QUIET your house is, and what a different child the one left at home becomes w/o the sibling. It's amazing! It might be harder on Lexi b/c she's older than Bucket, but we SO enjoy our quiet days here now. Then when Ironman gets home, it's balls to the wall shrieking and excitement as they reunite!

I promise you, it'll be ok!:) Hope everything else is good!

  5. wow, glad orientation went well and he seems to like his teacher! Good luck!!!

  6. Such a bittersweet time for you all! I am sure he will do great with kindergarten. ;-)

  7. Wow! We started school here on August 10th! I wish we started after Labor Day like you guys...I'm sure Dylan will do great! Lane loves Kindergarten and you're right...it makes it so much easier on Mama. Enjoy your last few days of your summer!

  8. So great to enjoy eachother before the summer ends and everyone gets busy with schedules! Good luck on the first day!!!

I love hearing from you! Let's chat!!!
