SEPTEMBER 30th
We had a busy Sunday! We dropped my great niece off at her house, then picked up Dylan from my sister's house. We spent the afternoon with Grant's family. We're trying to spend as much time as we possibly can with Grant's dad. From there, we went to Amber's house for dinner. We spent the evening there, then headed home to get the kids to bed and prepare for the upcoming week.
OCTOBER 1st
It's so hard to believe that it's October!!! It sounds cliche, but this was a typical Monday. I didn't get enough sleep, Lily was cranky (teething, I think), and Lexie was a beast. Bedtime couldn't come soon enough on this day! After the kids went to school, Lily and I met Amber at the park for our morning walk. Lily screamed for half of the 2 1/2 miles. It wasn't like her, so I knew something was wrong. She finally passed out, and we finished our walk in peace. Lexie is a strong willed child. She is an absolute angel for her teachers, but sometimes, when she gets home, all hell breaks loose. This was one of those days! I spent the afternoon sorting through clothes and cleaning, and put the kids to bed early. It was partly because they were all tired, but also to save my sanity! We all have those days!
OCTOBER 2nd
I sent the kids off to school in the pouring rain. The weather caused us to cancel our morning walk. I picked Lexie up, then brought her back for lunch. After lunch, we went to storytime at the library. After storytime, we stopped by to visit my father-in-law. He was almost asleep when we arrived, but we got to see him for a few minutes. We headed home so Lily could nap. That evening, we had some friends over for dinner.
OCTOBER 3rd
My sweet Lily turned 14 months old! That is hard to believe! I drove the kids to school, then met Amber for a walk at the park. After our walk we returned home for a bit. We picked Lexie up from school, then came home for lunch. That afternoon, Lexie had gymnastics. After gymnastics, she ran some errands with me. I was in need of some new Fall clothes and boots, and I still had birthday money left over (from April!!!). We came home just in time to get Dylan off the bus. The rest of the evening was spent at home.
OCTOBER 4th
After the big kids headed to school, we spent the morning at home. It was nice spending time with my sweet girl. Around 9:45, we headed to Lexie's school so we could shop the book fair with her. She was so excited to see us, and even more excited to pick out some stuff at her first school book fair! After leaving the school, Lily and I ran some errands before returning home. My friend dropped Lexie off after school. We had lunch and made a cake while Lily napped. Dylan came home from school, and we headed outside to enjoy one of our last really warm days of the year. We came inside to do homework and prepare for school the next day, then went to a friend's house for dinner. We ended up staying past bedtime, so the kids had to go to bed as soon as we got home!
OCTOBER 5th
I sent the big kids off to school, then spent a few hours with Lily. I put her down for a nap, then headed to Lexie's school to take black & white portraits for a PTO fundraiser. We quickly photographed 3 classes before AM Kindergarten let out. We spent the afternoon visiting my parents. We thoroughly enjoyed what was probably the last warm day of the year! After a delicious dinner, we headed back home. It was such a busy day that I didn't even sit down until nearly midnight!
OCTOBER 6th
My day started off fantastically, with my cell phone screen shattering, followed by many messes to clean up. Late morning, we headed to a nearby town's annual Apple Fest. It was incredibly crowded, as usual, but the kids had fun bouncing in the bounce houses, eating carnival food, and getting balloons and other freebies that vendors were handing out. After Apple Fest, I got a new cell phone, and we made a Target run (surprisingly cheap!!!). We all took a nap when we got home, had dinner, then spent the evening visiting at my best friend's house. We didn't get home until after midnight. All three kids fell asleep on the five minute drive home!
crazy busy fun week!
