Mug Love Exchange + Caffeine Is My Lifeline

#MugLoveExchange

I'm often asked why I blog. I usually give the standard answers such as I love to write, I love to document my life with my family, I love to show how typical life can be with Down syndrome and I love the experiences it provides, but there is one more reason: I absolutely love the blogging community! That's why I was so excited to participate in the Mug Love Exchange!

As a mom, caffeine is my lifeline. There's no reason to sugar coat it. I need caffeine all day every day if I want to keep up with my four kids! Those epic dark circles that keep popping up under my eyes is only a testament to how busy life is these days. If I didn't get my caffeine fix, I would sink!

I do like coffee, but hot tea is my go-to drink. Considering how much caffeine I chug, tea is probably a much healthier option than my favorite creamer with a little drop of coffee drink!  Over the years of getting a daily caffeine fix, I've acquired quite the collection of coffee mugs and tea cups. Much to my husband's dismay, I just can't stop buying them. If I spot a cute mug it hops into my cart. And even though I pack the seasonal ones away after holidays, my collection keeps growing and I'm running out of storage space.

Let's face it. The next logical step will be this... (Take note, dear husband, and head to Lowe's!)

Considering the fact that I have a mug obsession, I immediately signed up for the Mug Love Exchange. I was looking forward to receiving a mug from somebody other than myself. I was partnered with the beautiful and sweet Desiree from Macke Monologues, who lives the entire way across the country!

When I received what she sent, I literally squealed! Through email chat, Desiree knew I preferred hot tea so she opted for a tea cup. I didn't have anything like it in my collection!

Beauty and the Beast mugs
What Desiree didn't know through all our chat was that Beauty and the Beast was my favorite Disney movie. She NAILED it!

I love my tea cup right down to the little chip!

My new tea cup quickly made it into my favorite mug/tea cup lineup. I love to fill it up with the strongest tea first thing in the morning (and afternoon...and evening...)!

And just like Desiree said in her sweet card, my kids can enjoy a few sips, too.  If I let them...

The Lucky Few

My Disney-obsessed daughters are so jealous of my Chip teacup. Sorry, girls, this mug is for mama...and there will be no stealing my precious caffeine!

Momlife

Thank you so much for the awesome mug, Desiree! Now I can stay warm while sipping my favorite tea outside AND have enough energy to keep up with the toddler tornado who never stops!

Head on over to Macke Monologues to check out what I sent to Desiree! I had so much fun shopping for the perfect mug(s) for her. Hint...it's very convenient for November 25th! ;) I'm linking up HERE for the #MugLoveExchange - you can enter a Starbucks giveaway while you're there!

Favorite Things Exchange

I'm so excited to be participating in my first Favorite Things Exchange with some of my favorite bloggers!

I sent MY favorite thing(s) that were $10 to 2 bloggers and received favorite things from 2 other bloggers. It's such a fun idea!

I sent my favorite things to Jacie from The Fella Life and Shandy from Happy Meets Home. Here's what I included in those packages:
006

I wasn't quite sure what I could send that I loved that was $10, but I decided to share the favorites that I always buy at Target! My favorites that I included are items that I have in my purse and at home at all times.

I always stock up on notepads, post-its, pens and pencils at the Target Dollar Spot. I have a set in my purse, a set in my blogging/laptop bag and a set in my junk drawer. I can't help but replace them every season!

Target has the cutest mini travel bags in their travel section. Just browse their travel products one day and you will spot them. They are the perfect size for purses/diaper bags and they always have the cutest prints. Bonus? They are only $1.97! I have several that I keep in my purse, diaper bag, pool bag and park bag, so I wanted to include one of those.

Lip balm is one of those things that I can't live without. I have lip balm stashed everywhere, but the main problem I have is that I lose it in bags and can't find it quickly. I love EOS because of the bulky shape. It's really easy to find when I'm feeling desperate!

The e.l.f. waterproof eyeliner pen is easily my favorite waterproof eyeliner. I keep one in my purse and one in my makeup bag at home. I always wear it when I'm going somewhere. It's bold, it goes on very easily and it lasts.  Plus, at only $2, it's a complete steal!

I snapped a picture of MY favorite things just before they went into the mail, but I only had my cell phone and I wasn't thrilled with the quality. I went straight from Target to the post office with 7 kids that day, so I wasn't thinking and forgot my camera!

Instead, I decided to share a picture of MY favorite things straight out of my purse. Although the colors/varieties are different, the products are still the same. The only difference was that I sent a 2 pack of pens instead of just one!

I had a lot of fun browsing Target (even with 7 kids) and picking out my favorite items that I wanted to send!

I loved everything I received in return, too!

The first package I received arrived from Emily, who blogs at Three Boys and a Girl.

Emily sent Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo. She also tossed in some peanut butter M&M's (which I snacked on while writing this post) and two cute hair ties!

I rely on dry shampoo several times a week, so I love to try other brands. I really liked this one and it's the perfect size to keep in my purse!  Thank you for sharing your favorite with me, Emily!

The second package was from Sarah, who blogs at Seeing All Sides.

003

Sarah sent Batiste dry shampoo in floral & flirty blush. I love the scent! I especially loved Sarah's way of keeping it real. In the note, she confessed that she sent her favorite thing straight from Amazon because a trip to the post office with 2 kids is not her favorite thing.  Oh, I completely understand!!!  Thank you for introducing me to Batiste, Sarah!

Obviously dry shampoo is a busy mom's best friend!  When I was trying to decide on my favorite thing to send, I almost went with my favorite dry shampoo! In the end, I decided to send a package of my favorite things that I always buy from Target.
