Liam's Rockin' Pandemic 7th Birthday

Spoiler Alert: We are just over one month until Liam's EIGHTH Birthday, but I didn't realize I didn't post Liam's 7th Birthday recap during my semi-blog-hiatus! Better late than never...it was time to finish what I started. Liam's 7th Birthday fell during the pandemic, so he didn't have a big party in 2020, but his birthday was a lot of fun! 

Despite the "quiet" birthday, Liam had a great day! We went swimming, we ate a favorite meal, his grandparents stopped by, and he loved his presents. I don't think Liam even cared about the fact that he didn't have a big party!

Just like every other year, we managed to tackle all of our favorite birthday traditions. His day started out with a room filled with balloons, we had donuts and sang the Happy Birthday song, he got a new outfit, we had a mini birthday photoshoot, he picked a favorite meal, he got presents from all of his siblings (and mom and dad), we had cake, and he got new pajamas. Honestly, his smile said it ALL!

Liam was so excited when he woke up to see the birthday balloons! He just knew it was a special day! Liam's birthday fell on a weekday, so even though Grant was working from home, he still had to work. He was able to join us in singing Happy Birthday, and eat donuts with us. The Happy Birthday song and donuts are two of Liam's favorite things, so he was a happy boy!

Before beginning Liam's fun afternoon, we ran outside for a quick 7th Birthday photoshoot! Sometimes it's tough to get Liam to cooperate, but Liam was super happy, super cooperative, and he just loved his "7" balloon. I only took a few pictures, but they captured Liam's bubbly personality perfectly!

Finally, Grant ended his day early, and we went swimming at our friend's pool. Liam loves swimming so much, so he was so excited to go to the pool on his birthday. We managed to fit in a few hours of swimming before dinner and the rest of our celebration.  He was grinning the entire time!

After we ate one of Liam's favorite meals, my parents came over for presents and cake! Liam was so excited to open his gifts. Each sibling gave him a special gift, then we gave him the gifts we chose for him, then my parents gave him their gifts. He is one lucky little boy, and loved SO much!

Finally, it was time for cake, and another round of Happy Birthday! Liam's joy is written all over his face whenever we sing Happy Birthday to him. I absolutely love that, and his happiness is contagious!

After cake, Liam's special day began to come to an end. My parents went home, Liam changed into his new Blippi pajamas, and he settled down with his new iPad from Nana and Papa. Liam's birthday wasn't quite as big as it usually is, but it was still so special!

2020 was a year of pandemic birthdays. All of our families had one, but we made the most of it! Liam partied hard on his 7th Birthday, and was so excited that I wouldn't have changed a thing about his special day. We are so thankful to have this beautiful human being in our lives. 7 was a good year, and the countdown to 8 is beginning!
