Tongue Tied

It has been 12 days since my little princess was born, and she's doing great! She had her second appointment with her pediatrician this morning. She gained 7 oz since her appointment last week, and her jaundice looked much better!

I don't think I mentioned it, but Lily was born tongue tied. Because of this, we were referred to an ENT to get her tongue snipped. I still have to make the appointment, but it's better that we get it done sooner rather than later. It's a quick procedure, but I cringe at the thought of putting my baby through it!

It's a bit difficult to see unless she's crying, but the bottom of her tongue is attached to the bottom of her mouth. She's nursing great, but it may cause problems in the future if we left it be. We'll be making that appointment soon!

As for me, I'm doing well. I often forget that I just gave birth! It doesn't hit me until the end of the night when I sit down, and it almost feels like I have the flu. My labor and delivery with Lily was really fast (story to come), but out of all three of my kids, this is the best I've felt afterward! I just have to keep reminding myself to try to take it easy, because I am still healing!

I honestly can't believe that Lily was born almost two weeks ago. Time really does fly!

  1. I can only imagine how much you do not want to see your little one go through this but you have the right outlook on it! I hope that it isn't hard for either of you!

  9. Almost 2 weeks already! Whoa! Time really flies so fast! She's just perfect! I have read though, that it recedes eventually til 6yrs of age. I am just sharing, whatever it is you think that is good for Lily, go for it :) For sure she'll recover sooner than we expect.

  10. It's reassuring to hear about life continuing on as usual! I pretty much put our family on lock down after John was born, but am not really up for that again! I'm so glad that you guys are doing well :)
