Friday Favorites {Fashion & Beauty, Fab Finds and Fun}

Happy Friday, my friends! It has been a while since I shared a roundup of my current favorites, and there are quite a few things that I currently love. Before my "Love List" gets too long, I want to share them with you!

Friday Favorites

We had quite a week. The busyness that comes from all the end of the school year events has started, Dylan and Lexie are working hard preparing for their concerts, dance recital insanity has begun, and an immediate family member had a very serious health scare last Friday and ended up getting brain surgery on Tuesday. Due to privacy, I won't go into many details, but he is doing as well as can be expected and has some tough work ahead of him. Needless to say, Grant and I are running on very little sleep, while dealing with a lot of stress and worry.

BUT...the kids are off school today and I am so thankful we have a 3 day weekend to unwind. Then again, who am I kidding? This weekend is going to be busy, too!

Without further ado, here's what I'm currently loving!

{LuLaRoe}

I recently tried out LuLaRoe for the first time! Liana sent me leggings and a shirt, and sent each of my girls a pair of leggings. I can see why women love LuLaRoe so much! These leggings are definitely the comfiest pair I own!

Here's a sneak peek of a post I'm putting together next week...

...check back on Tuesday to see the different ways I styled LuLaRoe!

{Cast-Free Lexie}

We did receive some great news this week! I took Lexie to the hospital for an appointment with her surgeon. They cut off her cast for x-rays...and left it off! We were not expecting that. As her surgeon put it, "Really bad breaker, really fast healer!"

It is such a relief! Mainly for her, but (in a selfish way) for me, too. Once again, she can dress herself, shower by herself (without lots of preparation to keep her cast dry) and fix her hair by herself!

{Fab Shoe Finds}

I rarely go to Walmart, and when I do, I don't check the shoe department. My awesome friend, Tracy, gave me the heads up that Walmart had really cute girls' shoes for under $5. I had to stop in to get something, and left with a few pairs of shoes for my girls. I could have easily bought more, because they were all so cute!

These three pairs were Lily's favorite. I bought Lexie the same shoes, but they don't have the strap. At just $4.98 each, you need to run and grab some before they're gone! Well, Walmart, I'm impressed!

Although it wasn't an amazing deal, I have been looking for a cute pair of lace up sandals. The ones I loved online were over $40. I found a similar pair at TJ Maxx for only $16! Sold!

{Toddler Hipster Style}

Most of Liam's wardrobe comes from Trendy Bubs. I'm going to be so bummed when he grows out of their clothing! Thankfully, we have a few more years ahead of us! If Liam isn't rocking the preppy bow-tie look, you'll find him in Trendy Bubs tees and bottoms. And this #STUD shirt is one of our favorites! As always, use the code liamff to save 20% on your order (excluding sale and custom name items).

{Kat Von D Lip Liner}

I don't wear lipstick very often. I'm more of a tinted lip balm or light lip gloss kind of girl! But when Influenster sent me the Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner complimentary for review, I was really excited to try something different.

I don't own any nude or brown lip colors so this one was very different. It was a bold look for me! It's perfect for date night or moms night out, and it really does last a long time!

{Nuby Bath Toys}

I mentioned in my Nuby bath toy review and giveaway last week that we discovered a really fun bath product that makes bathtime so much fun! I love being a Nuby Parent Blogger. I've discovered so many awesome products, and these are no exception!

The Hippo Spout Guard is the coolest thing! Not only does it protect little heads from bumps and bruises, but it can turn your tub into a mini spray park. When the hippo's mouth is open, the water flows from the faucet normally. But when you shut it, water sprays out of the nostrils! Liam absolutely loved it and uses it every night at bathtime!

The colorful Nuby Bath Letters & Numbers are a hit, too! They're fun to play with, but they're also a helpful tool I'm using to teach Liam his name. We work on letter and number recognition while he splashes in the tub!

{Dance Pictures}

Lexie and Lily had dance pictures taken last month. There are definitely good ones, but I knew I could do a better job. I just prefer natural light! I didn't get a picture taken of Lexie and Lily together in their recital costumes, and the picture for the programs is due tomorrow, so I had to take a quick picture. I captured their personalities perfectly with the very first shot!

Stay tuned for all the pictures!

{Star Wars Day}

So, who else celebrated Star Wars Day? My boys are big fans! May the fourth be with you!

I would love to hear about your current favorite things. Share them in the comments! XOXO

I hope you all have a warm, sunny, fun weekend! It won't be very warm or sunny in Pittsburgh this weekend, but it's definitely going to be fun!

Mom's Secret Weapon for Beating the Rainy Day Blues + Nuby Bath Toy Giveaway

DISCLOSURE: This post is sponsored by Nuby. As a Nuby Parent Blogger, I received these products in exchange for my 100% honest review.

Mom's Secret Weapon for Beating the Rainy Day Blues + Nuby Bath Toy Giveaway

During the month of April, the Rainy Day Blues tend to kick in over here, thanks to the frequent rain. All the rainy days are hard to deal with, but it's especially difficult for Liam and Lily, who just want to spend their time outdoors. If you have kids, then you know that cabin fever is legit!!!

I'm always trying to come up with new crafts and activities to keep my kids busy, but sometimes I just don't want to set up another rainy day activity. Like many moms, I often overlook the simplest way to keep them entertained, and it's something that everybody has in their home: The bathtub!

Putting on a swimsuit and taking a bath in the middle of the day can make this ordinary everyday task seem so different and so much more fun!

Nuby Bath Toys

Toss in a few fun toys, grab a book (or a device to watch Netflix), and sit back and relax while your child plays. If your kids are anything like mine, this activity will give you a full hour of relaxation! An hour of not hearing, "I'm bored!" over and over again is an amazing thing!

Mom-Approved Ways To Make Rainy Day Bathtime A Blast:

Put on a swimsuit!

The Lucky Few

There's just something about wearing a swimsuit that makes this ordinary task seem more fun. It doesn't compare to a day at the pool, but it's still really exciting!

Mix in some color!

Bathtime Activities

Changing the color of the bath water is so much fun! Add one color changing tablet to the bath water, or mix two for a simple lesson in color mixing!

Add some bubbles!

Bathtime Activities

Bubble bath always makes bathtime more fun! Bonus points for blowing bubbles in the tub, too!

Toss in fun bath toys!

Nuby Bath Toys

Liam has two new favorites!

The Nuby Splash 'N Catch Bathtime Fishing Set is a versatile, BPA Free bath toy. The four colorful characters can be linked together, or the net can be used to scoop up the sea characters. Liam loves this toy, and I love how it helps Liam strengthen his fine motor skills by scooping and linking!

The Nuby Octopus Hoopla is such a fun toy! It's a toy and a game in one. The adorable octopus floats in the water, and the three included floating rings can be tossed onto the arms. This toy is also BPA Free and is perfect for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination! It gets this special needs mama's vote of approval!

Give them washable paint and a paintbrush!

Bathtime Activities

This is a favorite bathtime activity in our home! An inexpensive palette of washable paint and a paintbrush captures their attention. Even better? It wipes clean in seconds!

Let them color with bath crayons!

Bathtime Ideas

Just like paint, bath crayons are always a hit! (Guess what? Even my tweens, Dylan and Lexie, use them!)

Add some sprinkler action!

Nuby Parent Blogger

Most kids love spray parks and sprinklers, so bring the fun to the tub! Although we used a favorite new Nuby product, turning on the shower will add to the fun. (Check back next week to see this beloved Nuby product in action!)

The next time the rainy day blues hit your family, send your kids to the tub! An hour of splashing may be exactly what you all need to turn the day around. After all, happy kids = happy mama!
