Milestones:  He took one step away from me/furniture a few times over the past month!  His balance while standing alone, without holding on, is improving every day.  He is SO close to walking independently!



Tooth Count: 7! 4 molars, 2 bottom middle teeth, and 1 top middle tooth. 



Eating: 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks. All drinks are in straw cups. Still nurses morning and night.



Favorite Foods:  Bananas, Cereal Bars, French Toast, Yogurt, Yogurt Melts, Spaghetti, Macaroni and Cheese, Oranges, Peaches, and Pineapple.  He LOVES fruit!



Sleeping:  Liam sleeps 12-14 hours through the night, and takes 1 long nap every afternoon.  He usually falls asleep in the car, too.



Words/Signs:  Mama, Dada, Papa, Hi (Ha), Bye (Ba), Up (Uh), Down (Da), and he signs Eat, More, and Go.  He mimics a lot of sounds and words during speech therapy, and we just have to get him saying them more so he can incorporate them into every day speech.




Likes:  Taking baths, eating, snuggling, playing, speech therapy sessions, cruising, playing at the library, and playing with his family and friends.



Dislikes: He hates getting his face, nose, and hands wiped! He doesn't like feeling cold and he wants his messy diapers changed immediately! (Or biting his tongue, as shown in the picture below!)



Favorite Toys: Bristle Blocks, Fisher Price Peek a Blocks Train, Leapfrog Cook and Play Potsy, Play Kitchen, Fisher Price shape sorter, and our ottomans and kid-sized chairs to walk behind!



Nicknames: Miam, Little Dude, and SuperLiam!



Health: Over the past month, he had an occasional stuffy/runny nose and he spiked 2 fevers.  No lingering symptoms.  I had a bad cold for a week, so I'm sure he was trying to fight that off.



Early Intervention: He receives Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy in our home. He receives each therapy for one hour/once a week.  He's currently working on bettering his self-feeding skills with a spoon and fork, lots of repetition with words and sounds, and learning how to walk on his own!



Wearing:  Mostly 6-9 month clothing, but he still fits into several 0-3 month onesies and several 3-6 month pajamas and 2-piece outfits.  Size 3 diapers and size 2 shoes. 



Personality:  Liam is still a cuddly love bug who is full of joy!

Liliana turned 17 months old today!  It's hard to believe that she is a month away from the 18 month milestone!

 

AGE:  17 months



STATS: 23.5 lbs and 33 inches



WEARING:  Size 4 diapers, size 5 shoes (too big, but you have chubby feet!), and 12-18 month clothing.



MILESTONES:  This month, you were introduced to the potty.



TOOTH COUNT: 16!!!  All you need is your 2-year molars, which I think are starting to make an appearance!



COMFORTS: Sucking your thumb.  You also started to twirl your earrings while sucking your thumb.



FIRSTS:  This month, you actually got to experience Christmas.  You were too young last year to enjoy it. 



EATING: You eat 3 regular meals and 3 snacks a day.



FAVORITE FOODS:  Green or Black Olives, Corn, Macaroni and Cheese, Tomato Soup, Noodle Soup, Cheerios, Blueberries, Bananas, and Cheese.  You have also learned the joy of eating Oreos.



SLEEPING:  You sleep 12+ hours at night. 3-5 hours after you wake up you are ready for a 2-3 hour nap. You are an excellent sleeper!



WORDS/SOUNDS: You can say most of the names of everybody in your life. Your words include Dog, Cat Oh, Hi, Bye, Yeah, Bug, Yuck, Hot, Cheese, Cookie, Happy, Baby,  Candy, Santa, Ho Ho Ho (courtesy of Santa!), seatbelt You are learning the sounds animals make and you are starting to sing the first part of the alphabet.



LIKES:  Going outside, swinging, dancing, climbing, wearing multiple strands of beads, Singing into Dylan's microphone, and taking baths.



FAVORITE TOYS:  Your Furby, Baby Dolls, strollers, Dylan's microphone, shoes (you love to wear everybody's shoes and stomp around in them!), cell phones (THIEF!), books, bead necklaces (you always have one around your neck), and toy music players that resemble iPods.



DISLIKES:  Getting your diaper changed, getting dressed, being told no, and getting your face and hands wiped.  Your headbands are starting to make you angry, too!



NICKNAMES:  Lily, Lilybug, Bugs, Bugaboo, Bugsies, and Lily Belle.



PERSONALITY: You are a sweet, cuddly baby girl!  You love to snuggle with us, lean in for hugs, and give kisses.  You have a mischievous streak.  This month, you decided to fingerpaint your body and toilet seat with the poop in your diaper. You are constantly climbing onto the kitchen table. Daddy calls you the sticky bandit, because you take everything...the remote, our cell phones, tablets...and RUN! You are lucky you are so cute and funny! You are a little ham! You make the cutest, funniest faces, and they are usually on cue.  I think you may have inherited the acting gene!  You are starting to show your frustration at not being allowed or able to do some things.  You definitely have a dramatic side! Your sweet, happy, social, loving, friendly, easy-going personality is what stands out. You can charm anybody with your sweet grin!
