Aldi Aisle of Shame Finds of the Week

Aldi Aisle of Shame Finds

Once upon a time, I was afraid of Aldi. People would tell me how good it was, but change scared me, and it just didn't appear to be worth it. A best friend finally dragged me in one day, and I was hooked!

At first, I just stopped in to buy gluten-free food for Liam, but soon I was purchasing snacks. I realized I was saving SO MUCH MONEY, so I tried buying all of my groceries at Aldi one day, and we discovered that we loved everything. Once I grew comfortable with shopping at Aldi, I discovered the Aldi Aisle of Shame!

The Aldi Aisle of Shame is so popular that there are Facebook groups devoted to it. If you don't know what I mean, just venture into an Aldi one day, and look for their Special Buys section. They go so quickly, so act fast if you see something you like! I shop at Aldi every week, and most weeks, I just leave with 1 or 2 items from the Aldi AOS, but this week, I brought home an Aldi Haul!

Here's what you need to know before you tackle the Aldi AOS:

  • The Aldi circular usually arrives in the mail on Tuesday.
  • Some Aldi locations will put out that week's Special Buys just before they close on Tuesday night, while others wait until Wednesday morning, when that week's deals begin.
  • Shop early on Wednesday morning, because the most popular items sell out FAST!

Here's what I brought home from Aldi yesterday:

Welcome To Our Home Sign - $9.99

I'm in the process of updating our wall decor, and I loved the Farmhouse Style of this sign. We will be painting our walls this year, and I think it will look great in our living room. Right now, it looks good above our fireplace!

Loveseat Cover - $14.99

Yesterday morning, our English Mastiff got our loveseat cushion wet. Yes, we allow her to sleep on our loveseat. We keep our furniture covered with slipcovers for easy washing since we have 5 messy kids and a giant dog, but it was still a PITA to strip down the cushion to wash it. I added a water resistant loveseat cover to my list, not realizing they were in the circular, and it just so happened that they had them in their Special Buys section yesterday, in the size and color I was looking for! Sure enough, the kids and dog wrestle on it and bunch the bottom and arms all up, but the top stayed perfectly in place. We did have a little spill from Coen's sippy cup already, and it didn't leak through!

Silicone Clip On Kitchen Tongs - $4.99

Okay, so this one is boring, but I needed a new pair of kitchen tongs since ours broke, and I have been trying to buy all silicone utensils since that's all I can use on my favorite pan. The clip on feature is an added bonus! They had a bunch of silicone utensils to choose from in the Aldi AOS, but I only needed tongs.

Mug Life Chalkboard Sign - $8.99

Everyone knows I love mugs and have a big collection, so as soon as I spotted this chalkboard sign, I knew it was perfect! I hung it above my coffee/tea bar as soon as I got home. It comes with 4 magnets and it's obviously a chalkboard, too, but I don't really know what I'll use it for other than just a cute sign!

Coffee Bar

Ceramic Tea Canister - $4.99

I have been searching for some new canisters for a few weeks, but haven't found any I like. I loved the set of white cermic canisters in the AOS, but another shopper took them right from me. (What is wrong with people?!?)  All I was left with was the tea canister!

Coffee Mugs - $2.69 each

Remember my mug collection? Yep, I added 3 more mugs to it! At just $2.69 each, they were a steal. I'm obsessed with buffalo plaid and black and white, so they were perfect!

I looked at a few other items, but what I chose were items that I either needed or really wanted. It might seem like a lot, but I only dropped $140 on all of the items above and groceries for a week for 7 people. Anybody who has a big family, knows that's a miracle in itself! That being said, the Aldi Aisle of Shame gets me every time. Just take all of my money, Aldi!
