Our Five Ring Circus: Independence Day

Independence Day

The 4th of July is one of my favorite days of the year! We have the same traditions every year. We have been attending Grant's family's picnic since I met Grant in 1999.  Over the years, our group has grown so much. I absolutely love this day. This year did not disappoint!

It was Liam's first 4th of July!  There are no more "Baby's First" holidays after this one!

Dylan, Lexie, and Lily looked adorable and festive, too!

My attempt at a picture of all the kids together was a lost cause.  As usual.

We gathered with family and friends for a 4th of July picnic.  Good food, good friends, lots of laughs, and lots of fun! We ate quickly, and walked down the street for the 4th of July parade!  Liam didn't even flinch at all the noise!

This year, the highlight of the picnic was the golf cart rides through town!

And, well, all the delicious food!

Liam met so many new friends, and we were happy to introduce our little joy to everybody!

The hours of fun flew by, and it was time to go watch fireworks!  We all left the picnic and went to our usual spot at the cemetery. It sits on a hill and has a direct view of the fireworks!

We cuddled up on our blanket and waited for them to start.  Lily slept, Liam teethed, and all the other kids piled up in front of us.

I always get emotional during 4th of July fireworks.  I rubbed my belly while watching them when I was pregnant with Dylan, and wondered what our baby would think of them and what all the years to come would be like. I did the same thing with Lexie. And Lily. And Liam. I remember holding all of my babies for their very first fireworks display. The years flew by in the blink of an eye, but I will always remember those magical moments while watching fireworks.
