23 Weeks with Baby #4

How far along: 23 Weeks

Due Date:  September 6, 2013

Total Weight Gained:
None, as of my last appointment.

How big is baby?  Our sweet pea is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound!

How baby is growing:
  Baby #4's blood vessels in the lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that his/her increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him/her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him/her when he/she hears them outside the womb. {from babycenter.com}

Maternity Clothes: I'm still wearing my regular clothes. My belly is growing, but my regular pants are still too loose.

Stretch Marks:  None!  I've never had one before, so I'm hoping that trend continues!

Sleep:
I still only wake up about once per night, usually around 5-6 AM, to use the bathroom.  The only time I have a sleepless night is when the morning sickness is really bad overnight.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week:
Feeling the kicks from the outside!  I'm going to be honest.  Pregnancy is really difficult for me, so the only good moments are feeling the baby move, hearing the heartbeat, and seeing the baby at ultrasounds.

Movement:  The baby is moving around a lot! He/She is strong and active!

Food Cravings:
Cereal and blackberry yogurt.  I wouldn't call them a craving, but they are the only foods that really stay down!

Food Aversions:
Just about everything!

Morning Sickness:
I still have hyperemesis, and taking daily medication for it.

Gender:
It's a surprise! We didn't find out with Dylan, Lexie, and Lily either!

Names: The girl name is chosen, but we still have a huge list of boy names and nothing sounds perfect!

Symptoms: Horrible morning (ALL DAY) sickness, Braxton Hicks contractions (irritable uterus), Anemia, exhaustion, headaches/migraines,  peeing more frequently, severe constipation, restless legs and itchiness some nights, and irritabilityThe headaches/constipation is a side effect from the Zofran and iron supplement, but I have to take them.

Exercise:  Treadmill workouts Monday-Thursday this week.

What I miss: Feeling normal.  I have been really sick since January 3rd!

What I'm looking forward to:
Watching my baby bump grow and meeting our precious baby!

  2. Happy Mother's Day to you! I love that precious baby bump; although, I'm so sorry to hear you've been feeling so sick. Do rest and pamper yourself today.

Good for you for letting the sex of your baby be a surprise, and for doing that with all of your kids. I wish I did that. XOXO

  5. I think it's great that even with being so sick you are able to work out, it will make for a much easier recovery.
