The Happenings of Week Six

FEBRUARY 5th

Grant started his new job, so we began adjusting to a new routine!  That afternoon, we went to storytime at the library.  The rest of the evening was spent at home.

FEBRUARY 6th

We had a really busy day.  Right after the kids headed to school, I took Lily to her 18 month checkup.  She got two shots, and didn't even flinch!  From there, we went to the lab to get her Complete Blood Count done.  They poked her finger twice, with no luck.  She was cooperative through that.  Unfortunately, the blood draw from her arm made her really mad!  Poor girl got stuck 5 times that morning!  After leaving the lab, we ran to the bank, to Target, and went immediately to the school to pick Lexie up.  After a quick lunch at home, we took Lexie to gymnastics.  The rest of the day was spent at home!

FEBRUARY 7th

After picking Lexie up from school, we spent the afternoon visiting my parents.  My dad picked Dylan up from the bus stop and brought him to their house for dinner with us.  After leaving my parent's house, we drove to a friend's house to meet Grant and have dinner with them.  As soon as we got home, I put the girls to bed and Dylan and I worked on his homework.  The rest of the night was spent doing laundry and cleaning.

FEBRUARY 8th

Lily and I stayed home all morning.  We picked Lexie up from school, then returned home for a few hours.  That afternoon, I had to pick my mom up from work, drive her home, then race home to get Dylan off the bus.  The girls fell asleep in the car, and ended up sleeping for 3 hours, so Dylan and I had a quiet evening.  After Grant got home from work, we ate a quick dinner, then we all went to my best friend's house for the evening.  We ended up staying there until almost 1!

FEBRUARY 9th

The kids slept in since we went to bed so late.  Grant was awesome, and woke up with the kids, allowing me to sleep some more.  That afternoon, he had to run some errands, so I took the kids out to run my own errands.  Our first stop was at Toys R Us so they could spend gift cards they got for Christmas. After what seemed like FOREVER in there, we made it to Michaels and Target.  We came home, had dinner, then went to my sister's house for my niece's 17th Birthday party.  After the party, we went to our friend's house to hang out for a while.  The girls passed out on the couch while we were there, and before I knew it, it was 2 AM.  We were just having so much fun talking and watching TV!  We decided to just stay overnight since the girls were asleep.

FEBRUARY 10th

My awesome friend, Amber, "kidnapped" Lily while we were all sleeping, and took her to another room so we could sleep some more.  Then, she made us breakfast.  Have I mentioned how awesome she is?!?  We finally headed home late that morning.  Due to the fact that I barely slept, I took a 3 hour nap with Lily, while Grant and the big kids played.  Once I woke up, the kids and I set to work writing out Valentines, making heart-shaped crayons, and making Valentine boxes.  We only took a break for dinner and baths.  Once the kids went to bed, Grant and I curled up on the couch and watched TV.

FEBRUARY 11th

Back to school for the kids and back to work for Grant!  After everybody left, Lily and I curled up on the couch for a while.  I love morning cuddles with her!  We picked up Lexie from school and ran to CVS to pick a few things up.  After lunch, Lily went down for a nap and Lexie just wanted to curl up with me, so we did, and I ended up falling asleep on the couch.  By the time I woke up, it was time to get Dylan off the bus.  I ended up racing around to get the floors swept and mopped, followed by homework with the kids and assembling Valentines with Dylan.  As soon as G got home, we had dinner together.  Shortly after, the kids headed to bed.  Grant's brother stopped by for a quick visit, then Grant and I watched some Parenthood episodes.  He went to bed early, leaving me up alone, enjoying the silence for an hour!
