Week One In Review

I actually followed through with a 365 project in 2012, so I'm going to attempt it again this year!  It's nice to be able to look back on what we did every day!

JANUARY 1ST

We rang in the New Year with some of our closest friends.  We spent the night at their house, then had brunch with them before returning home.  That evening, we had dinner with Grant's family. It was a good first day of 2013!

Back to reality.  The big kids returned to school.  After picking Lexie up from school, I took her to gymnastics.  We returned home and stayed in for the rest of the night.

Lily turned 17 months old! We spent the morning at home while the big kids were at school.  After picking Lexie up, we went to Kohl's so I could pick up a few things.  We returned home and stayed in for the rest of the night.

After Lexie got out of school, we went to visit my parents.  That evening, my mom, Lily, and I went to Costco while Lexie spent time with my dad and Dylan spent time with Grant.  After having dinner with my parents, Dylan and Lexie decided to spend the night at their house. Lily fell asleep on the way home, so it was an easy night for us!

JANUARY 5TH

I met my friends for breakfast.  It's always a treat to spend time with them!  I was feeling really tired when I got home.  Grant had somewhere to go, Dylan and Lexie were still with my parents, and Lily was ready for a nap...so for once, I actually got to take a nap!  I even managed to get the house cleaned before the big kids came home and Lily woke up!  That evening, as we were getting ready to leave to go to our friend's house for dinner, Lily fell down our basement steps.  I felt horrible. Dylan or Lexie left the door open behind them.  When I saw it was open, I went to close it, and Lily was halfway down.  She looked up at me, smiled, and fell.  She rolled the rest of the way down and slammed her head against the cement block.  Luckily, she just got a big scrape and bruise, but my heart stopped for a few seconds!  We ended up having a nice dinner with our friends.  Their son came home with us and spent the night.

JANUARY 6TH

I spent the day taking down all our Christmas decorations while Dylan and Lexie played with their friend.  After he left, we went to my parent's house for a quick visit with my dad on his birthday!  We returned home, had dinner, and got the kids ready for bed.  After everybody was in bed, Grant and I spent the evening watching some of our favorite shows.

Mondays are always tough.  I had a difficult time getting Lexie on the bus.  I always feel horrible when she stares our the bus window at me, with a sad look on her face.  Luckily, she was cheerful when I picked her up from school.  We had a laid-back day at home. We have been doing that a lot more lately.  After Dylan got home from school, he and Lexie started to play and they played until bedtime, only taking a break for homework and dinner.  After the kids were in bed, Grant and I started watching Homeland season 2.  3 episodes later, it was time for us to go to bed!!!

(A few extra pictures today, because they were being cute and sweet!  P.S.  Dylan and Lily are twins.)

  11. Oh that story about Lily broke my heart. She was so proud of herself and looked up at mama, then kaboom! So sad! Glad it wasn't serious though!
