Summer's End (Week 33: 365 Project)

This is the start of the last full week of summer vacation for us.  Next Monday, Dylan is going into 2nd grade, and Lexie is starting Kindergarten.

It is back to the grind for us, starting tonight.  After an entire summer of going to bed late, and sleeping in, we really need to get back on schedule.  Everybody went to bed early tonight, which means tomorrow will be an early morning.  The coffee is already prepped!

We had a great summer!  We spent it with family and friends, had a lot of fun, and made a lot of great memories.  I'm not going to lie.  I'm going to miss my babies!

If I'm absent from the blog world over the next week, it's because I'm busy enjoying the last week of summer vacation with my kids!

Here's a glimpse of our last week:

AUGUST 12th

The kids that slept over got picked up, and then Lexie left to spend the day with her cousin, Aubrey.  Grant, Dylan, Lily, and I cleaned up from Lily's birthday party and visited his family for a while.  Once we were all home, we spent the evening playing outside.

AUGUST 13th

We spent the day at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History with our friends, and got some great ice cream on the way home.  Dylan stayed at their house, while I drove Lexie to my parent's house for a sleepover.  I ended up having dinner with my mom, while Lexie and my dad ran some errands.  After a quick bath for Lily, we headed home.

AUGUST 14th

I spent the day starting the sun porch renovations.  It was hard work, but it's on the way to looking awesome! That evening, we went to our friend's house for dinner. It ended up being a late night!

AUGUST 15th

I took Dylan to Urgent Care, because he had a massive, infected blister on his finger, and a few new blisters popped up on his knee.  It turned out to be some sort of virus, but they put him on antibiotics for the infection.  That afternoon, my parents picked up Dylan and Lexie, and took them to a rock shop to pick out some things.  Lexie came home with earrings and pretty gems, and Dylan got a dinosaur skull excavation kit.  That evening, I took first birthday pictures of Lily in the highchair.

AUGUST 16th

Great playdate at Soergel Orchards with my mom group, followed by Lily's weekly blood draw and errands, followed by swimming with friends.  Great summer day!

AUGUST 17th

Visit with my parents, shopping with my mom, and dinner with my parents.  Came home to hang out with friends.  They ended up spending the night.

AUGUST 18th

The kids and I got a lot of errands done while Grant hung out with the guys at our house. I took them to lunch before heading home.  The rest of our friends (the wives and kids) eventually came over for dinner.  Dylan left with a friend for a sleepover, leaving us with just the girls.  After such a busy week, they crashed early!
