Things I've Learned This Weekend

{1} Don't be deceived by appearances...

...because baby girl does not handle her shots well!

She spent the majority of her waking moments screaming bloody murder on Friday and Saturday! It was trying, and we had a horrible night's sleep on Friday night. I felt so bad for her, but she's doing much better today.

She had a great checkup, and is finally putting on weight! She is almost 12.5 lbs and is just over 24 inches long. She gained 2 lbs in one month!

{2} Do not pack away summer clothes before November. I packed them away last weekend, because the weather was cooler, and guess what? We're back in the high 70's/low 80's here in PA!

As much as I love the warm weather, it needs to cool off just a bit. Lily doesn't fit into her newborn summer pajamas anymore!

{3} Halloween costume shopping with three kids is rough. Three stores later, they had their costumes. We had an empty wallet.

Halloween costumes are ridiculously expensive. Lexie wanted a cheaply made costume that cost $40, and after the stress of all the shopping we gave in. The kids are so proud of their costumes though, so the frustrating shopping experience was worth it!

{4} Don't bother skipping a birthday party if the host calls to tell you her kids are sick and it's "come at your own risk." Because you can't really avoid it!

After dinner yesterday, Dylan spiked a 102 degree fever. It came on quickly, and went away after I gave him tylenol. Within an hour, he was back to normal, and he has been fine ever since. Weird!

{5} Silly Putty is horrible. It now resides in our garbage can.

{6} Enjoy every moment like it may be the last. Don't take your loved ones for granted. A good friend of ours was here last night, and hours after she left, she lost her dad unexpectedly. My heart is breaking for her right now.

{7} I love it when Dylan and Lexie get along. It makes life much easier. And quieter.

{8} Baby is ready to move! Laying around all the time isn't much fun anymore.

Photobucket

{9} It's much easier taking pictures of Lily than of my older two. Which is why this post is loaded with them.

{10} Somebody said it was Fall?

{11} Bwahahahahahaha! Pennsylvania didn't get the memo!

Photobucket

{12} Snuggling with my baby (make that kids) is my ultimate way to relax.

Photobucket

{13} I'm glad my big boy (and Lexie) is home from school tomorrow. I feel like I haven't spent much time with him since school started!

An added bonus? I get to sleep in. Just a bit.

  4. It was HOT yesterday. I was sweating up a storm while cleaning. I'm not complaining though...because as soon as Halloween gets here, it'll be snowing.

  5. Yes, hate those baby shots!

I've been buying our Halloween costumes used when the parents of multiples club I belong to does their fall resale. They only run me $5-$7 there.

  6. Poor little thing with her shots and that discomfort!

I think Halloween costumes are crazy expensive too, and they're thin and flimsy. Frustrating!

  12. I hate when the season start to change and you think it's time to get out the fall clothes and then it gets hot again! It will do that down here until December!
