39 Weeks!

I've officially hit a pregnancy milestone: making it to 39 weeks! All of my doctors predicted I would deliver by 38 weeks, so I never expected I would make it this far!

DATE:
August 1, 2011

How far along:
39 Weeks!

Total Weight Gained:
9 lbs total, and that's making up what I lost. (Went down again.)

How big is baby? Nugget measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds. (I'm going with more!)

How baby is growing
: Nugget's waiting to greet the world! He/She continues to build a layer of fat to help control his/her body temperature after birth. babycenter.com

Maternity Clothes: I never wore maternity clothes. Regular pants and regular long shirts still fit perfectly.

Sleep: Sleep?!? What's that??? I'm so uncomfortable at night. It takes me forever to fall asleep, and I spend the night tossing, turning, and peeing!

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week:
Enjoying those final kicks and squirms inside of me.

Movement: Nugget is still very active, but is limited to squirming around and punching out feet, knees, and hands. My little kiddo has bony legs!

Food Cravings: I haven't had a single craving this pregnancy. I mainly eat fruit, salad, cereal, and sweets.

Food Aversions:
Still a very long list.

Morning Sickness:
I'm still taking Zofran everyday to control the morning sickness. I can't wait for it to end!

Gender:
It's a surprise!

Symptoms:
Tons of contractions, increased morning sickness, headaches, and pressure from the weight of the baby. Every time I stand up, I feel like he/she is going to push out!

Exercise: I've been running 2 miles/day 4-5 days a week since I was considered full term. I've been trying to convince Nugget to come out, but he/she won't budge! The only thing I'm getting out of it is bragging rights that I'm able to run at 39 weeks. I will admit that it's not very comfortable!

What I miss:
Feeling comfortable and nausea-free!

What I'm looking forward to:
Having this baby! I can't wait! Come on, Nugget!!!

39 Week Picture:

I never expected that I would be posting a 39 week picture!!!

  7. Wow! I never ran past 32 weeks - w/ my first - I had preeclampsia so they made me stop, and 20 weeks w/ the twins - since they were twins my doctor started getting nervous I was still running. Both times I was pretty uncomfortable, so I didn't put up a fight - I can't imagine running at 39 weeks! Come on Nugget!

  8. You look fantastic! Im going to guess you're having a boy. Congratulations for making it to 39 weeks, too! My eldest was born August 9 and he has an amazing personality though I'm not sure that has anything to do with the sign you're born under.

As for helping that baby come join the family a little faster, try stairs or walking up a great big hill! Worked fir me more than once!

  13. I smiled reading your post. With my 2nd child I only gained a total of about 9 pounds. I was just so sick, not being able to keep food down. What's really funny is that after she was born, I still had a mommy tummy LOL. You look so happy in the photo :)

  14. Gosh! You can still run at 39th! Geesh I will and I must try that when I get pregnant again :) Good job! No wonder aside from that bulging tummy, you are still amazingly fit :) Anyways, hope you are having a great week and hoping to see nugget this week! :)

  16. Jealous! You look absolutely beautiful! When I was pregnant I looked like a house! Of course I did have to carry 10lb babies, but still!

I'm sure it's just comfy in there for that little one, but I bet you are more than ready to meet him/her. Looking forward to the news! :)

  18. I cannot believe that Nugget has not come out yet! I never expected to see you post a 39 week pic either. Again, I'm so sorry that you've had to go through so much. But in your picture, you look radiant. Sending easy, quick, painless labor vibes your way :)

  19. 2 miles a day! You are amazing. Your would think nugget would take the hint, but she/he's probably very cozy in there.

    I'm so excited for you!
