The Good

Our summer vacation is off to a good, though slightly busy, start! I keep waiting for life to calm down, but I'm thinking it's just going to stay this busy!

Some good things from the past few days:

{1} We found out that Lexie and my best friend's son, Lexie's best boy buddy, are going to be in the same Pre-K class next year!!!

{2} My best friend and I had a spontaneous girls night out on Monday. She sent a text asking if I wanted to see a movie with her. I was on the couch, in my pajamas, but 10 minutes later, I was on my way to her house! All of our plans involve our kids, so this was the first time in many years that just the two of us have gone out. We'll definitely have to do it again soon!

{3} On Tuesday, Dylan's first day of summer vacation, we had to attend a Kindergarten graduation picnic. I wasn't really in the mood to go, but I'm glad we did. Almost all of Dylan's classmates showed up, and Dylan had a great time playing with his friends and swimming! Even Lexie had fun! Dylan got to see his teacher for a few minutes before we left, and was really sad when it was time to go!

{4} Lexie Bean is having a really rough week with the injuries. On Monday, she fell in the driveway and got her first bad skinned knee. The following day, she slipped on the bleachers at the baseball field, and banged up the other knee. Tonight I asked her if she was done hurting her knees, and she nodded, then immediately slipped off her chair and banged her knee again! The Good? No ER visits. Yet.

{5} Dylan has been kicking butt at baseball! It's amazing how much he learned this year, and funny how they start getting really good at the end of the season! He's hitting harder, running faster, getting more outs, and starting to understand the game. I think he learned more in this year of coach pitch than he did in T-Ball! He received his second game ball of the season tonight for a big out on third and for hitting his first double of the season!

{6} My sweet mother-in-law bought Lexie an awesome big girl bed this week! Lexie loves it and can't wait for it to arrive. Once we set it up, the crib will be ready for little Nugget! I can't believe our little baby will be here in about a month!!!

  2. Sounds like a fun start to your summer! What movie did you go see? I went to the movies with a friend last weekend to see Bridesmaids because I knew there was no way I was talking Jason into going with me:)

  8. Life sounds great! So sorry little Lexi keeps hurting her knees, good that you haven't had to go to the ER though! I always joke that the ER knows my kids by name b/c boys are just so...rowdy! I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!

  9. You are one busy mama! Enjoy this summer with your little ones. Your son and daughter sound so much like my own. My son just finished his first year of t-ball and my daughter is always banging up her knees lately.

Enjoy:) and looking forward to hearing about when Nugget makes his/her arrival!
