31 Weeks

The time crunch and the stronger contractions got me moving today! All of the blankets and crib sheets are in the closet and the diaper bag is (mostly) packed. I haven't carried a diaper bag in years, and it felt really strange to be packing one for a newborn! Thanks to my friends and my personal stash, Nugget has enough diapers to get him/her through the first 4 months!

How far along:
31 weeks!

Total Weight Gained:
I gained back 4 lbs.

How big is baby? Nugget is over 16 inches long and weighs about 3.3 lbs.

How baby is growing: Nugget is heading into a growth spurt. Nugget can turn his/her head from side to side, and his/her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath the skin. Nugget is probably moving a lot (definitely!), too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up (nope-he/she sleeps all night!). babycenter.com

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing my regular clothes. My pants still easily fit, thanks to the fact that I'm carrying so high!

Sleep: I wake up more frequently to pee and flip over. Every time I wake up, I'm having a contraction.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week:
Our surprise baby shower from our sweet friends!

Movement
: Nugget is very active! One of the few times that he/she sleeps is when I sleep. Nugget is getting bigger, so the tumbles and stretches are more uncomfortable, and I always have baby limbs poking out of my belly! (Honestly? I love it!!!)

Food Cravings: I haven't had any cravings yet. I eat a lot of fruit, vegetables, and grains.

Food Aversions:
There's still a lot that I really don't like.

Morning Sickness:
I just refilled my Zofran. Enough said!

Gender:
It's a surprise!

Symptoms:
Braxton Hicks contractions that occur every time I move, all day sickness, lower back pain, and pressure. The baby is up in my ribs, so it's uncomfortable to sit! The contractions are getting stronger, and starting to hurt a bit, so I have to pay careful attention to make sure nothing else changes. Frequent OB appointments at this point!

Exercise: I'm allowed to keep up with my daily walk, but everything else is restricted. I stick to the treadmill in the air-conditioning now. The heat gets to me!

What I miss:
Feeling comfortable and nausea-free!

What I'm looking forward to:
Getting everything set up for Nugget's arrival!
