Kicking Off Summer

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We had perfect summer weather-in the high 80's/90's and sunny-all weekend. It was one of the best Memorial Day weekends that I can remember!

Last week seemed to go by so slowly. We were all looking forward to our long holiday weekend!

We started off our weekend with a trip to the library. It is my new sanctuary on early Saturday afternoons. Nobody is there, and my kids are happy to look at books and play for an hour. In return, I get to sit on a comfy couch and enjoy the quiet! Afterward, we headed to my sister's house for my great-niece Aubrey's birthday party!

This beautiful girl turned 5!

It was so nice to see Aubrey again, and to spend time with my family. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins!

They are quite a crew! Brady (7), Dylan (6), Aubrey (5), and Lexie (4).

I headed home with two soaking wet, exhausted kids!

On Sunday, we went to a picnic at Amber and Rex's house. We had a lot of fun with our friends! We finally got to meet sweet little Charlotte, who is now a month old!

As usual, Dylan and Lexie had a great time with their buddies!

On the way home, we decided to stop by Grant's parent's house for a late-night visit. Grant's mom, the kids, and I sat on the balcony, enjoying the gorgeous night. Lexie fell asleep while we were there, and Dylan fell asleep on the way home. It was a long day for all of us!

Our Memorial Day was very relaxed. Grant's family usually has a big picnic, but they canceled it this year. We ended up having dinner with Grant's parents at their house. It was very humid and in the 90's outside, so we ended up having our picnic indoors! The kids thought it was very cool!

After dinner, we spent some time outside.

Before long, our weekend came to an end. It was a wonderful one, full of great memories! Happy Memorial Day!

  3. What a fun weekend! We have indoor picinics sometimes when I don't want to cook dinner. Somehow a PB&J sounds better if the kids get to eat it on the floor in the living room:)
