Lucky

I admit, the past few days I've been very down and irritable. I've had extreme morning sickness (hyperemesis) for over 7 weeks. I don't talk much about it, because I don't want to seem like I'm complaining, but I'm at the point where it's really starting to drain me. It's a difficult, lonely place to be in, and not many people truly understand what it's like.

I had hyperemesis with both Dylan and Lexie, and I remember having those moments where I didn't think I could do it anymore.

The truth is, every single moment of the horrible nausea was worth it. I am reminded of that every time they smile.

I am already in love with the little baby that is making me so sick, and I know that one day in the near future, his/her smile will light up a room, too.

Every day, I look at my kids, and I wonder, "How did I get so lucky?"

The days may be long and exhausting, but when I feel the flutters at night, it reminds me that I am blessed.

  2. Can you explain more about what that health problem is? I'm not familiar with it that's why I ask? Does it cause you to be sick constantly? I'm sorry. Big hugs! Hope you feel better.

  3. I just can't imagine being so sick. I couldn't eat much when I was preggo with Buddy...just a bite or two of a hamburger or whatever would fill me up and/or make me feel nauseous, but I wasn't ever truly sick (except for when I brushed my teeth at night...I would gag and puke every night). I so hope you can get over this hump and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

  4. I couldn't agree more, you have a precious family...so sorry you're so sick. I don't even begin to understand what you're going through, but I can imagine its exhausting and miserable. :(

  6. I know exactly what its like and you can always count on me to talk to and lean on. Those of us diagnoses with hyperpermesis are rare, your the only other person I know that have gone threw it 3 times too. It is a difficult diagnosis and even our husbands don't truly get how awful it is. I told Gary a few times that I didn't think I'd make it this time, I'm older and it was the worst every 15 minutes getting sick. Hang in there and let me know if you need anything! It's not luck, you deserve to be their Mom and you ate great at it.

  9. Aww you are the sweetest! It is worth it but that doesn't make it any easier. I was sick for 8 weeks with each kid and thought I would die! Luckily it ends soon!!

  10. I can't imagine. I mean I was pretty sick with my girls and was on bed rest during all three of my pregnancies but I am sure that has nothing on what you experience every day. I hope you feel better soon...Does it usually last your whole pregnancy?

Those beautiful smiles would make anyone feel better! :)

  13. so sorry you're sick! I never had it SUPER bad with Connor, but with Brayden there were points that I would get nauseated just getting out of bed. It's miserable! But you're right-- we are so blessed by these babies who bring the sickness! Hope you get to feeling better soon!

  14. I was very sick with Kirsten and it just just horrible. I feel your pain. Hopefully it won't last the entire pregnancy! And it is all worth it in the end - you have 2 beautiful children that are proof to that.
