Trimming the Tree

Last night, we put the finishing touches on our Christmas tree.

We enlisted the help of two adorable, pajama-clad elves.

We followed our tree-decorating tradition. Grant unwrapped the ornaments and handed them to the kids. The kids, in turn, handed them to me, so I could put them on the tree. They had a great time rediscovering their favorite ornaments. Every ornament on our tree is special, and has it's own story!

After the ornaments were hung, Dylan put the star on the tree, with some help from his daddy.

Then, we wrapped up the tree with gold ribbon. And adjusted the ribbon many times throughout the night.

The elves were very pleased with their little tree (even though daddy is wishing for a 7 1/2 foot pre-lit tree for next year)!

I love that the kids are in their jammies, to me that just screams waiting for Santa to arrive!!

  6. Looks wonderful! We also just put our tree up and the kids had so much fun helping out. They're even more excited for Santa to come now too, like it's more real to them now. I can't wait.

  7. I don't wrap my tree in anything other than lights and ornaments, though I love when I see others' tress like that!

  8. Pretty tree! The ribbon is a nice touch. We did our tree on Sunday and I unwrapped the ornaments while the boys and Jdaddy put them on the tree. Jdaddy had to remind them several times that there is more than one side to the tree.

  12. How fun and what great helpers! I look forward to next year with GG can be a little more of a help. Right now she's just into taking the ornaments off the tree after we put them on. She's great at undoing everything we get done. But that's okay too...just makes life a bit more interesting! Your kids are adorable and love the pjs.
