Weekend Happenings

We had another busy weekend!

On Saturday evening, the kids and I attended my best friend's 30th Birthday party at Dave and Busters. My wonderful sister tagged along and kept the kids occupied with all the arcade games. I wasn't able to stay for the entire party, but I'm so happy I got to celebrate Jocie's birthday (well, technically it's tomorrow-gotta let her enjoy her last day of her 20's!) with her.

Happy Birthday, Joc! I love you!

Today, we attended a picnic. My mom's best friend hosted a picnic in honor of all the August and September birthdays. The picnic involved lots of food, lots of kids, swimming, s'mores, a bonfire, and fireworks. The kids had a great time!

I wasn't in my usual picture-snapping mood, so this is all I've got:

Dylan and Lexie made it easy for me, and fell asleep on the way home!

It was incredibly difficult to attend these functions alone. I was the sole "single" person among all the happy couples. That hurt. To be honest, I wasn't in much of a mood to do anything this weekend. I know that I can't stay at home, feeling depressed, so the best thing to do is continue with our plans as usual.

I am glad that I got out, and I did manage to have a good time with my family and friends. I am surrounded by some amazing people, so I am blessed in that aspect!

  1. looks like a fun weekend despite all that you are going through. So sorry things were rough at the picnic, I can't imagine. Like you said, you are so fortunate to have the family support that you have right now-family is SO important in times like this...hope you have a good week.

  4. That was one huge bon-fire! WHOA!

I agree with Kimber. It's good to push yourself to keep doing things so that you don't just sit and think about it all the time. (HUGS)
