Watermelon Welcome and Awards

Dylan had yet another Kindergarten event today. This is now the third one...this school district really wants their students prepared!

Today's event was the Watermelon Welcome. I have to admit, I really didn't want to go, but it turned out to be a good time.

The kids got to play on the computers in the computer lab and watch a video about what going to Kindergarten is going to be like. Then, they made flower pots (I'm guessing there's a flower seed planted in them) and read a story, while the principal talked to the parents about the Kindergarten curriculum, rules, and guidelines. After that, the kids made an art project with the Kindergarten teachers and talked about what they're going to learn in Kindergarten. The day ended with them eating watermelon, playing on the playground, and riding a school bus.

Tonight, Dylan had a T-Ball game. He was really hitting and running well! He loves playing baseball! It was SO hot, though. It was around 90, and everybody was sweating, especially those poor kids!

When we got home, we couldn't live any longer without AC. So on it went, and we're comfortable now!

And now for some awards!

Marice, at Life Can't Wait passed these two awards on to me. Thanks, Marice! You're so sweet! She combined them into one, and I'm going to do the same!

For the sweet blog award, rules stated that I have to pass it on to 10 other bloggers.

The Super Comments Award is different. You need to answer the 10 questions asked by the kind soul that gave you the award and make up 10 questions to pass along.

Here are my answers:

1. How did you come up with your blog name? Kids names. :)
2. Are you a morning or a night person? Night!
3. What's you favorite song and why? "Hallelujah"
4. Who is your favorite Actress and why? I honestly don't have one!
5. How about your favorite Actor, of course and why? See above! :)
6. What type of movie do you love watching? Anything but horror/slasher movies.
7. What's your favorite quote? Live Laugh Love
8. Where/What is your favorite spot in your house and why? My kitchen. I love all the natural light and the red walls!
9. What's your favorite breakfast meal? Eggs and toast
10. What would like to say to me, anything? Be nice heheh kidding :) Marice, you are a super sweet and supportive person!!!

Here are the 10 questions I'm asking you:
1. How many siblings do you have?
2. Do you have any pets?
3. What is your favorite TV show(s)?
4. Do you like to read?
5. What is your favorite season and why?
6. What are you most looking forward to?
7. What is your favorite item of clothing?
8. What is your worst trait?
9. What is one thing I'd be surprised to find out about you?
10. Who is your celebrity crush?

I'm passing on this award to all of my readers! I have a difficult time narrowing down blogs to give awards to!

I also received the Versatile Blogger Award from Shannon at Webbisodes. Thank you, Shannon! I hope your sweet, baby girl feels better soon!

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person that gave you this award.

Thanks again, Shannon!

2. Share 7 things about yourself.

* I stay up entirely too late. I usually don't get to bed until at least 2 AM. I'm working on that.

* I love Simon Cowell. Yes, he's my "older" man crush. There's just something about him...

* I was a vegetarian from the time I was 8 years old until I was 20. To this day, I eat very little meat, and it's mainly poultry.

* I met my husband when we were cast as Adam and Eve in a musical. We started dating on March 21, 1999 and got engaged on May 17, 1999. We got married a year later, when I was 20 and he was 21, and we'll be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this year! Our wedding was a production: Lots of awesome vocalists and even a bagpiper!

* I hate flying. Hate it. The last time I flew was for our honeymoon in Mexico, in 2000.

* I am a crossword puzzle/trivia/Quiddler/Scrabble Slam addict, and I love to read!

*To this day, people can't figure out why I didn't go to college. They think I threw away my high GPA, my scholarships, and all my college acceptances. I can't live in the past. What's done is done. I was set to go up until a month before, and then I decided to wait a year. Everything that happened from that point on led me to where I am today. I have a wonderful family now, and they are my everything. I may not have a college degree, but I still have my intelligence.

3. Pass the award along to bloggers who you have recently discovered and think are fantastic!

These are the newest blogs I'm following:
*Carma Sez
*Dayngrous Discourse
*Mommy and Charli
*Our Little Family
*The Fick Family Blog
*Life Can't Wait
*The Snyder 5

I hope I didn't miss anyone! It's late and I'm getting tired!

Oh, and *Don't forget to enter my Bea's Bows Giveaway!*

  7. 2 am?! You are crazy. :) Did you watch the finale of American Idol last week? Simon got up and did a little goodbye speech and I see him in a different light now. I mean, I don't have a crush.. but I just look at him differently I guess. :)
