Fiesta!!!

Just as I expected, I woke up sick. Unfortunately, it was a ridiculously loud thunder storm that woke me up from my pleasant, I-don't-know-I'm-sick-yet sleep.

The thunder was so loud that our windows were rattling. It scared me so much, that I jumped right out of bed, as did Grant. Several seconds later, Dylan ran into our room, crying. Normally, he sleeps through everything, but I can see how that sound would terrify a little kid! Somehow, Lexie slept through the noise.

I was dragging all day long. I had a headache, sore throat, and stuffy nose. I managed to clean, but didn't have the energy to sit out in the hot sun. By dinner time, Dylan and Lexie were bored. I felt bad, so I surprised them with a fiesta! Okay, so perhaps a fiesta/luau hybrid.

I set the table, provided the accessories, and ushered them into the kitchen. They were so excited about their dinner party!

After our fiesta, I took the kids outside for a while. I felt horribly guilty that they weren't able to enjoy this beautiful day. I told them that I wasn't going to do anything but sit on the bench, take pictures, and read my magazine. Of course, I ended up pushing them on the swing and pitching baseballs, but that's just what moms do!

Despite the rough wake-up, it ended up being a good day!

  8. I was sick this week too. Unlike you, I was a mean mommy and didn't take Graham outside, though he kept saying, "Out, out!"
