Goodbye 20's

Today was the last day of my twenties! I'm okay with it. I'm ready to move on!

April is off to a great start, thanks to an amazingly beautiful day. It was the perfect day to say goodbye to my twenties.

I hardly ever acknowledge April Fool's Day, but I had to do something this year. So, I dyed Dylan's chocolate milk blue. I sat his glass in front of him, and he asked, "What is this, Mommy? Kool-Aid?" I didn't say anything. I watched as he lifted his cup to his mouth and took a sip. I held back giggles as his eyes widened. And then he exclaimed, "It's chocolate milk! It's BLUE chocolate milk! Thanks, Mommy!!!"

He loved it! He also loved the red water in the toilet, and was disappointed when it flushed away! Lexie didn't quite get it. She just looked at us like we were crazy.

It was an amazing 80+ degrees outside, so we pulled out the summer clothes, and spent the afternoon outdoors! I loved seeing the flowers in bloom and the buds on the trees. It's wonderful to see some color!

We all enjoyed being out in the hot sun. Even the dogs soaked up some rays.

I think Dylan may have learned a new trick from Uncle Benno yesterday.

Our afternoon outdoors ended when Lexie painted her entire body, including her hair and shoes, with sidewalk paint! That required a bath before nap time!

I am so excited for Easter weekend. Easter is one of my favorite holidays, and I am so thankful that we are going to enjoy some more gorgeous weather this weekend. I can't think of a better time to celebrate my birthday!

We kicked off Easter week with Dylan's class party. He had a great time! Yesterday was his last day of school before Spring Break.

We continued our Easter activities tonight. Our good friends, Amber and Rex, invited us over for pizza, an egg hunt, and egg decorating. As usual, we had a great time!

Amber is so sweet! She gave the kids Easter bowls filled with goodies, and acknowledged my birthday with a gift and a delicious chocolate cake! If you're reading this, Amber, thank you! We had a great time!

I got to end my twenties with a laugh. Lexie began crying for me, shortly after she went to bed. When I went in to see what was wrong, I was surprised to see that she had put the stickers that she got tonight, all over her face. Literally, 10 big stickers stuck to her cheeks, ears, and forehead. By the time I went back in to take a picture, all but one had fallen off.

Thirty isn't going to be so bad. It's just a number! My kids keep me laughing, which keeps me young!

Adios, twenties!!! You brought me many blessings...a husband, two children, and a house. It was a good decade. Here's to another one!

  6. Happy Birthday! I love your April Fool's jokes. I'm a much bigger fan of the simple harmless jokes. The red water in the toilet is a cute idea.
